History

Harlyn Beach House belongs to Mark Hellyar. Mark’s Family has owned and farmed Harlyn bay for approx. 250 years and it was his great grandfather; Thomas who founded the Harlyn Bay Pilchard company from the Cellars at Boat bay which you can see still on the left hand side of the bay. The view from your windows has not changed significantly for all this time. Something he is passionate to maintain.

Mark has also made wine in France: At Chateau Civrac in Bordeaux . We hope you enjoy your stay here at Harlyn Bay and perhaps enjoy a glass of his wine either here or at his partners (Emily’s) wonderful restaurant on the beach at Watergate bay (www.emilyscottfood.com).

Harlyn Bay is a special place to me, my family and anyone who stays here.
